So Tuesday night was the night before my designated weigh in date. As I sat there and watched The Biggest Loser I gorged on snack after snack, you would have thought that it was my last day to ever eat. By the time the show was over and I was ready to go to bed, I had enough, I realized that I was ready to get serious about losing weight.
As of Wednesday morning my weight was 162 pounds. Even at 9 months pregnant the scale had never hit that number for me. It made me think of what brought me to that point, and what I needed to do to change it. And in case you are wondering, I'm still pondering that one...
In the last 5 days I have for the most part stayed on track. I have eaten at least a piece of fruit for breakfast, mostly salads for lunch and a light dinner. I have gone to the gym twice, once to excerise and once to play racquetball. Friday night my daughter and I did the Dancing With The Stars exercise video, it was harder than I thought it would be! Btw, I have new respect for the "stars" on that show, doing all of those steps at such a fast pace showed me just how uncoordinated and unfit that I am....2 days later my calves still hurt!
As far as the program goes, I have managed to be more active, I started taking vitamins, I have increased my water intake, ugh...and I have eliminated (most) problem foods from my diet. When I say most I mean that I haven't been able to give up the pepsi....and for anyone who knows me...knows that won't happen. But the good news is that I have cut back some, what can I say, it's a start.
The hardest part of this whole process I think will be staying away from the scale, I'm not supposed to weigh in again for 4 weeks. I understand the reasoning behind it, so I don't get discouraged....but it will be soooo difficult!

I was with you when you stopped smoking, and if you can do that, you can do this :-)! You will be your svelte self again, and who knows, perhaps even a healthier version!!
ReplyDeleteI am a bit alarmed, however, to find that you are dancing :-); Visions of Elaine come to mind!
P.S. I know what you mean about the Pepsi; I reach for my Coca-Cola nearly as often. If you find a way to make water more appealing, let me know! I am needing to shed some pounds myself
:-). I'll be watching!
